Joe started playing guitar when he was five years old and formed his first band with school friends at age 14, called Freedom Road. Joe played occasionally through the years and began seroiusly playing again in 1990. He joined a band called Breathless at that time and was a lead singer for 4 years.
In the mid 90s Joe met Joe Balestreri from the Last Chance Blues band and Balestreri was a mentor and teacher of the blues style. From that point on, Joe knew he would always play the Blues. Other influences came about soon after that including Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Albert Collins, BB King, Stacks Edwards, Lee Gates, The Reverend Raven, Milwaukee Slim, Willie Higgins, Rick Holmes, Stokes, Russ Stanford and his late friend Eric Peterson.
After playing many jam sessions
around the Milwaukee area, Joe decided to front his own band, and
started using Stacks Edwards and his band members, all of which are
friends of his also. When Stacks moved to New York in the
spring of
2007, Joe joined the other four members and renamed it Coupe De Ville.
Since then the band has gone through a few members and currently offers a strong experienced lineup of great players.
Accomplishments: Original songs which include the tracks "Goin Home", "What was I Thinkin", and "Breakdown".
